I suppose the clue is in the opening line; "The Olympic Park is a tour de force of ecological landscaping, but it has little to do with its East End context".

Some people including I think, Mr Wainwright, would prefer if the East End of London looked more like .... the familiar East End of their prejudices, not like this!

This park is a triumph and those of us who live in East London love it! I visited the park four times during the games and like many locals was both amazed at the park and pleased that we get to keep it so to speak, afterwards.

I find it very hard to be romantic about "concrete crushers, warehouse churches and piles of fridges" .
