I too went around this building soon after it had been completed -a Bartlett trip in the mid 70s.

It was the first 'modernist' building that took my breath away - an emotion similar to that experienced in cathedrals or ancient monuments. Perhaps I was young and fresh then as I am trying to recall whether I have felt anything like that since. Perhaps sadly it is the only modern structure that has had that effect on me to date. But now I remember Sacrada Familia, although could fall into the 'modern' category did too though that was of a very different era.
