Sure, there's a complete absence of any overall plan or vision for what Stratford should be, and the tragic outcomes will besmirch Stratford for generations to come; but that's no different from anywhere else in this country, since the whole concept of planning has lost its original meaning, and everything is now determined by markets and driven by developers. So I don't blame Newham, particularly. There's a much wider problem: who decides?
