As Ward Councillor for this site I find it quite bizarre that the Council is funding yet another report on the same issues. We have already discovered that it is quite impossible to make a station financially viable; two-thirds of the site cannot be built on due to HSE rulings; and we have just had an application in for a massive electricity sub-station on part of the site, right next to our beautiful canal, that would curse this area forever. We desperately need regeneration that will improve the lives and prospects of our poorest residents and revitalise Portobello and Golborne Markets, but having read the existing reports, it would take a miracle to get a station here.
