As a local resident I have attended two public presentations of the proposals for this scheme under development. While the regeneration is welcome, the proposals are fundamentally flawed. Proposed density is virtually double the existing which will add impossible pressure to an area already suffering from recent high rise/high density development. Proposed traffic/road layouts create additional through routes/rat runs which will have a serious impact on adjacent roads which are already hopelessly overloaded. In general these proposals will have a catastrophic effect on the local community, despite the council's good intentions. These views have been relayed to the council - a full and thorough reconsideration of the brief is required!
