Great building and a good article. The sandstone cladding frequently used in Edinburgh is often a sop to heritage concerns and results in a bland surface dressing poor architecture. The Potterow building stands out for the high quality of the detailing and while the stone isn't structural like Parry's Finsbury Square, the panel system is an authentic and attractive finish.
