I have admired this building as it has grown. dRMM have achieved a strong, spirited building that speaks confidently about the time it was built and the people who will occupy it. This is an ipod building for the ipod generation. Just as the buildings around it speak of the preoccupations of their Victorian designers this building speaks clearly about us, our preoccupations and what it is to be in the NOW. I applaud the work; to create architecture with a bold, adventurous resonance, very much within the zeitgeist of an age is a remarkable achievement. As dRMM engage with the problems of creating off grid buildings for a sustainable city, a sure direction for new architecture, their assured technical grasp and obsessively enquiring mindset can only be of benefit.
