The 'centrepiece' of this development is totally insensitive to its surroundings, and sits very uneasily with the 2-3 storey Victorian brick buildings surround it. It is a tragedy that the council is so keen to attract a short term boost to the economy that it will green light a project this horrific (in scale, brutish proportions, and bland facade detail), and reduce what remains of Digbeth as a historic place of interest and replace it with a building that reminds you of nowhere and everywhere. The new square, inescapably corporate, undoubtedly heavily CCTV'd, will be called Orwell Place. Roll. In. Grave.
