North London site was sold by Met Police under savings drive

Wolff Architects has begun work on a housing scheme in north London at a site once owned by the Metropolitan Police.

The west London practice is behind half a dozen four-storey townhouses at the Connaught House site in Muswell Hill.

The scheme, which involved tearing down five homes built in the 1960s, is due to finish next summer. Each home will be 2,500sq ft.

The police decided to sell up as part of an attempt to save £500 million which included moving out of New Scotland Yard last year and into new offices designed by AHMM.
