Site clearance begins for Nightingale's Glasgow hospital
’Super hospital’ is due to open in 2015
Work has begun to make way for Nightingale Associates’ £842 million South Glasgow Hospitals project.
The existing Southern General Hospital is being demolished so work can begin this spring to construct an integrated children’s and adult hospital, the biggest in Scotland.
Neil Murphy, project director at Nightingale Associates, said: “The design is progressing at pace, the site is currently being made ready in terms of enabling works.”
The hospital will sit in a landcsape masterplanned by Gillespies with construction work being carried out by Brookfield.
