Redevelopment at Oxford Road station is part of strategic city corridor

Sheppard Robson has been appointed architect for a mixed-use development around Manchester’s Oxford Road station.

Network Rail and Manchester council have been searching for a developer since summer 2014 for the scheme, which also includes the potential for improvements to the grade II-listed Oxford Road station. It has now named Bruntwood as preferred developer.

Tony O’Brien, a partner at Sheppard Robson, said the practice was delighted to work on a project which formed a key part of the so-called Oxford Road Corridor which was masterplanned by John McAslan & Partners.
