Pascal & Watson unveils station concourse at the Shard
Renzo Piano Building Workshop working with Pascall & Watson has revealed its reworked station concourse at London Bridge, showing for the first time how the base of the Shard will integrate with the rail terminus
The £25 million concourse – part of Sellar Property’s wider revamp of the site – includes a new glazed roof, ticket barriers and floor, all scheduled to be finished by the 2012 Olympic Games.
It will tie in with Renzo Piano’s 310m Shard of Glass, which is set to be the tallest building in western Europe.
The practice will work with contractor Mace, project managers Turner & Townsend and structural engineer WSP.
