New research centre at Stanford University opens
It is one of two buildings for the University’s School of Medicine by WRNS Studio
San Francisco-based WRNS Studio has completed a new research centre at Stanford University’s School of Medicine in California.
The new Jill and John Freidenrich Center for Transitional Research provides space for 250 staff members involved in clinical research. It also houses three organisations with a primary focus on cancer treatment, accommodating adult and paediatric outpatient clinics, administrative offices and new meeting spaces.
The $14.5 million building is part of a wider project to transform the School of Medicine into a more integrated, pedestrian-focused campus.
WRNS Studio is currently designing the second building on the Transitional Research Campus, an academic medical office building that will sit adjacent to the Freidenrich Center.
