Casper Mueller Kneer set to design Southwark warehouse conversion

Casper Mueller Kneer has received planning permission for a new White Cube gallery on Bermondsey Street, Southwark.

The work involves the conversion a two-storey warehouse building, which is currently vacant, to become the third White Cube gallery in London.

Casper Mueller Kneer has proposed a single-storey extension at the south-east corner of the site and will also install a new canopy along the building façade fronting Bermondsey Street.

A spokeswoman for the practice said: “Casper Mueller Kneer, the new company of Büro Jens Casper (Berlin) and Mueller Kneer Associates (London), have obtained planning permission for White Cube on Wedensday [last week]. Councillors in Southwark unanimously backed the plan of converting a dissused warehouse into an art gallery with ancillery spaces.”
