Leicester leads on Part L
Bond Bryan Architects’ £25 million city centre campus for Leicester College has opened to students
The five-storey complex, Abbey Park, spans 10,500sq m. Part of a sweeping £44 million infrastructure upgrade, it includes dance and drama performance space, recording studios, a business education facility, and laboratories for science, maths and humanities.
Green credentials include a wind turbine, along with night-time cooling, mechanical heat recovery and maximum use of natural daylight. “Abbey Park far exceeds the requirements of the current Part L Building Regulations,” said project architect Adam Jones.
