Lego tower hits the heights
Tallest Lego tower goes up in Brazil
The world’s tallest Lego tower was erected over the weekend in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo.
Made of 500,000 plastic bricks, the structure is held in place with a number of supports and required a cherry-picker so the final bricks could be layed by former footballer Cafu, who captained Brazil to success in the 2002 World Cup.
The tower stands at 102.33 feet (31.19m) which is 10 inches (254mm) taller than the previous record holder built in Chile three years ago.
Lego sent designers from Denmark to help build the tower.
