FaulknerBrowns’ venue open to all
FaulknerBrowns Architects’ White Water Centre will tomorrow become the first 2012 Olympic venue to open to the public.
The Lee Valley venue at Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, was formally launched by Princess Anne last December and will host the white water events such as canoeing at next year’s games.
It features a 300m canoe and kayak slalom course as well as a 160m training course with start and finish pools. During the games the venue will feature temporary accommodation for 12,000 spectators.
