Design Engine wins Guernsey School
Practice beat Aedas, Make and Penoyre & Prasad
Design Engine has won a competition to design a school in Guernsey, beating among others Aedas, Make and Soup Architects, Architecture PLB and Penoyre & Prasad.
La Mare de Carteret School is the practice’s second school on the island and is part of the final phase of the ‘Education Development Plan Programme’ to improve Guernsey’s secondary schools.
The brief is to design a replacement 600-pupil secondary school as well as a primary school and nursery on a coastal site in the Castel parish of Guernsey.
Plans also include new indoor and outdoor sports and community facilities.
