BIG and Diller Scofidio Renfro chase Barangaroo work
Winner of five-strong shortlist due in December
Five teams including BIG, Woods Bagot and Diller Scofidio Renfro have been shortlisted for a masterplanning scheme in Australia.
Barangaroo Delivery Authority (BDA) in Sydney asked for proposals for the Barangaroo Central scheme in the city back in August.
The work is part of the wider redevelopment of Barangaroo which has been masterplanned by Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners (pictured) for developer Lend Lease.
The five teams have been asked to come up with proposals for a 6ha site which include commercial, residential and retail schemes at the site close to the waterfront.
John Tabart, chief executive of the BDA, said a winner will be chosen in December with masterplanning work beginning early next year.
Also shortlisted are teams featuring Dutch practice UN Studio and SOM.
