BD takes a look at the workspaces of architects

Daniel Rosbottom said: “I have two desks, one at the studio and one at the university but don’t spend that much time at either of them. My official desk in the studio looks out into Bloomsbury. It is part of a long bench that I share with David, my partner, and a shifting collection of models. We design and discuss things together sitting at the Marten van Severen table in the foreground, our present to ourselves when we won the concert hall and library competitions in Norway. It does not normally look as tidy as this but we have just finished a meeting with graphic designer John Morgan, who is redesigning our print and web material.”

If I'd paid £4000 pounds for a table I'd know it was spelt Maarten.

Not sure why I expected something interesting from this ongoing Architects' desk section, but it's getting really boring!

The table is really from the Ikea "Lack" range.

  • How many architects and a tabloid journalist does it take to find the lightswitch?

Maybe crab meat maybe, but I assure you that I have paid in excess of £4000 for most of my many tables and I have no idea who made them or wha tthey are called. ho ho!

  • i don't mind going off on a four grand shopping spree with my partner either so lovely to be able to select the finest furniture we would have gone for warm colour to lift mood.

After looking at this desk/office I now feel dispressed.

More pseudo intellectual nonsense. How about an architects "Pseuds Corner" instead of this tired old idea?
