This year in the Bachelor of Architecture (RIBA Part 2) two city themes were explored, the city as a Hybrid, a 21st century condition, produced through emerging processes like globalisation, migration and technology and the city as a Model of Health, wherea health-related cross-professional development programme for healthy urban environments was established.
In the undergraduate programmes both the BA (Hons) Architecture and Planning (RIBA Part 1 and RTPI) and the BEng (Hons) Architecture Environmental Engineering (Candidate Status RIBA Part 1 and CIBSE) have tried to repair the fabric of the cities of Bath and Salisbury by the careful insertion of appropriate programmes. This year we will have the first graduating students from our BEng (Hons) Architecture & Environmental Engineering, which aims to develop an effective and holistic collaboration between the Architecture and Engineering disciplines with an understanding of why performance matters and how it can be achieved in imaginative architecture.
