CNN describes architect as ‘Lady Gaga of Architecture’

In interviews for the American TV network’s ‘Leading Women’ series, Hadid says that her two biggest regrets are not having a stronger presence in London and not having done more work in the Middle East.

As the world’s best-known female architect it was inevitable that the interviewer would ask if being a woman had been an issue in her career: “Because you’re a woman and not a European guy there are certain terrioties which you can never enter,” says Hadid. “I will never be part of the brotherhood. I can not go golfing with these guys or go on a boat trip. It’s not going to happen.”

  • Beautiful and hopelessly expensive. Clearly, we need more trophy architects.

  • There is no such thing as "the Brotherhood" although there is a tightly-knit coterie of London architectural luvvies, of which Hadid is a fully paid-up member.

to me she seems scarier and less approachable then any of the so-called "brotherhood" members... don't like her architecture and find her a bit of a diva but have a lot of respect for her spirit and ability. Lady HaHa indeed. ))
