Zaha Hadid: 'I will never be part of the brotherhood'
CNN describes architect as ‘Lady Gaga of Architecture’
In interviews for the American TV network’s ‘Leading Women’ series, Hadid says that her two biggest regrets are not having a stronger presence in London and not having done more work in the Middle East.
As the world’s best-known female architect it was inevitable that the interviewer would ask if being a woman had been an issue in her career: “Because you’re a woman and not a European guy there are certain terrioties which you can never enter,” says Hadid. “I will never be part of the brotherhood. I can not go golfing with these guys or go on a boat trip. It’s not going to happen.”
