Designing for the Olympics: a balance between "poetic requirements and pragmatic needs"

Pernilla Ohrstedt and Asif Khan, Kathryn Findlay and Populous’ Rod Sheard on designing some of the iconic structures of 2012

Though most of the architects of the official Olympic venues have had their tongues tied by the infamous marketing-ban, a few have escpaped by working for the Olympic sponsors, or even, in the case of Populous, becoming a sponsor themselves.
