Operations director will lead new school

Ryder Architecture has teamed up with Northumbria University to promote best practice in Bim.

The Bim Academy will work on consultancy, research, education and promoting integrated project delivery.

Ryder managing director Mark Thompson said the practice had been using Bim for six years, and that it benefited from the improvements it brings to the delivery of projects and design quality.

Ryder’s operations director Peter Barker will lead the Bim Academy, working alongside Northumbria University’s professor of building modelling Steve Lockley.

  • Yes Good. Please remember though...training in Drafting software packages doesn't just end at training on how to use the software. These technical document,s either in hard copy or soft copy, represent a marketing arm of the company so things like layout, text use are vital for producing a good high quality product and something I have not seen in a very long time. Prodcution of some sort of National standard is vital for this.
